Privacy at Quiet Deck
Quiet Deck is a native Solitaire app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Quiet Deck contains no advertising, tracking, usage analytics, or external crash reporting. There is no Quiet Deck account and no backend operated by us. We do not sell data or share it for advertising purposes.
Data is processed only where necessary for gameplay, private iCloud synchronization, and the purchase or restoration of the premium unlock.
Local storage
Quiet Deck stores the following information locally on your device:
- the current game variant and game state;
- the original deal and game seed;
- the undo history;
- play time, score, and move count;
- local top-five high scores;
- settings for sound, animation, cards, table appearance, theme, and controls;
- a local record of the trial and premium unlock;
- technical state required for iCloud synchronization.
This data lets you continue a game, keep your settings and high scores, and use Quiet Deck offline.
Except for the iCloud data described below, this information remains exclusively on your device. We have no access to this local data.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where processing is necessary to provide the app functions. Local storage takes place under Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG because it is necessary for the functions you expressly request.
Local data is deleted when you remove the app or its data from the device. The previous game state is replaced when you start a new game.
Private iCloud synchronization
When iCloud is enabled and available for Quiet Deck, the app stores the following information in the private CloudKit database of your Apple Account:
- the complete current game, including the variant, card positions, original deal, undo history, play time, and score;
- technical synchronization data such as the modification time, revisions, and a randomly generated identifier for the app installation;
- when you expressly start the seven-day premium trial, a record containing the creation time assigned by Apple.
This data is used only to synchronize the current game between your own devices, avoid synchronization conflicts, and provide one trial period across devices.
It is not used for advertising, tracking, analytics, or profiling.
The CloudKit data is held in the private database of your Apple Account. We cannot view it in the Apple developer portal. Quiet Deck operates no server of its own for this purpose.
The current game is updated as you play and when you start a new game. The start of the premium trial remains in the private iCloud database after the app is removed so that the one-time trial cannot be restarted by reinstalling the app.
You can disable iCloud use for Quiet Deck in your Apple device settings. This stops further synchronization; it does not necessarily delete data already stored in iCloud.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Quiet Deck remains playable locally without iCloud. Cross-device synchronization and starting the premium trial are then unavailable.

Purchase and restoration through StoreKit
The one-time premium unlock and purchase restoration are processed through Apple StoreKit and the App Store.
Quiet Deck receives only the information required to display the product, verify the transaction, and unlock premium. The app stores locally only whether a permanent premium entitlement has been verified.
We receive no payment details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. Apple handles the payment and retains the purchase history.
The legal basis for purchase verification by Quiet Deck is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Apple's own processing is governed by Apple's terms and privacy information.
Recipients
Data is transmitted only to Apple where required for CloudKit, StoreKit, and App Store services.
No data is transmitted to advertising networks, data brokers, analytics services, or other third parties.

Automated decisions
Quiet Deck uses no automated decision-making and no profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
The end of the seven-day trial and verification of a premium unlock are determined solely by fixed functional rules.

We update this privacy policy when Quiet Deck's functions, the Apple services used, or legal requirements change. The version published at this URL is the current version.
